Year 5 Basketball

On Thursday 23rd January, a selection of year 5 children went to Tiverton High School to take part in a basketball tournament.

The focus of the tournament was not having a winning team, so scores weren’t kept and every team played each other.  The focus was on children using new skills they had learnt from their coaches and following and applying rules to the game.

Two Moors really enjoyed the games and all the children feel like they had improved their skills during the morning.

The children behaved very well and showed great sportsmanship.  All the children played and put in lots of effort – there were lots of red faces after each match!

We must make a special mention of Alisha and Leo, as they each were awarded a certificate for self-belief and perseverance, and they were nominated by the coaches that had worked with them over the morning.

Christmas Intra-house Competition

All the school took part in a sports intra-house competition on the last day of term 18th December.  This time the children were training to be elves delivering parcels down the chimney.  The sports captains helped each team to deliver as many parcels (bean bags) as they could before the music ran out.  All the children had a lovely time taking part with Christmas music playing.

Results of the intrahouse competition are

1st Water (blue team)

2nd Earth (green team)

3rd Fire (red team)

4th Air (yellow team)

Well done everyone!
